QUESTION: the insect is very tiny, long speck, light colored, maybe tan. the ends of some of the roses are acting limp now. rubbery. any ideas?

Answer
There are organic solutions that gardeners use on roses that get bugs, but they never seem to really solve the problem permanently.  I would suggest that you buy Orthos Rose Pride Insect spray. Make sure you spray under the leaves and also all around the base of the rose bush, as that is where the insects hide when they are not feeding on the roses.
