Question
Can one divide sedum? If so, how do I know when I can divide these? I have 2 plants.
If you know about hydrangeas, can these be divided or not?

Hi Bill,
Thanx for your question.  Divide your sedum now.  Dig it up and cut the crown into pieces that have a large enough root ball to keep it alive.  A small clump of rootball the size of a golf ball is often enough. You can divide hydrangea in the same manner but I would make the root clump larger, about the size of a baseball at least.  Be sure and get them divided and in the ground before it gets too cold.  Mulch them well with cypress chips or leaves.  I hope this helps.
