Hi Ann,
Thanx for your question.  I believe the flower you speak of is the edelweiss, an alpine, low-growing white flower of Europe.  The botanical name is Leontopodium alpinum.  I found seeds on ebay, Amazon.com and Seedrack (http://seedrack.com/06.html).  I am not endorsing any of these companies, I'm just using them as examples.  I hope this helps.
