moon flower(shrub type)

Question
Ive started alot of moonflowers from seeds. there growing very good, there all in pots for now,  but having a huge problem with yellowing leaves. I know they are not drought tollerent so maybe Im over watering them,I let the dirt be a little on the dry side before I water. I do see signs of pests that Ive been spraying for. I also see new leaves trying to grow,I get nice flowers. what could be wrong?

Answer
Hi Sally,
Thanx for your question.  You probably need to feed the plants.  Potted plants lose nutrition very quickly as watering leaches out the nutrients.  Use a 12-12-12 balanced fertilizer and follow the directions on the package.  Moonflowers will tolerate some drought once they are established but don't let a pot dry out too much.  Pots dry out a lot quicker than does soil that hasn't been rained on for 7-10 days.  I hope this helps.
Tom
