Question
my poor monstra delicosa is not very old it is starting to produce spilt leaves but im afraid it is giving up the ghost the leaves are badly curling(but not browning) and the stalks are not erect , i  water it when its soil is dry(tap water in my area is very natural) and the pot is roomy, i have only once feed it fertilizer, it sits in medium light close to a window the temperature seems fine my flatmate owns the same plant and his is lovely so what is wrong with the poor lamb ?????????

Answer
Jenny,

I suspect that you are keeping it too moist.  It needs to be kept on the dry side in the winter. Allow it to dry out well between waterings. It also likes bright light but no sun.  It is native to the jungle floor where it gets flashes of sun at most. In the winter is the dry season in the jungle and the plant grows in very sandy soil that drys out well. Keep it dryer and it will perk up. Good luck.
