weeping fig leaves turning crispy brown

Question
after watering, my weeping fig became sick suddenly, the leaves are turing crispy brown, I think it's dying.

Could you please help me to identify the problem?

Answer
Hi Scott,

Thanks for the photos. Your Ficus is in pretty bad shape as I don't see any healthy stems or leaves. Although very low light could cause these symptoms, it is more likely that you have been keeping the soil too moist.

I cannot see the pot in the photos, but if you repotted into a larger pot, then I can almost guarantee that the roots have rotted. Unfortunately, there is no cure for root rot. Any stems that are dry and brittle are already dead.

I wish I had more positive news for you, but I think I am coming into this a bit too late.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
