leaves with brown tips


Question
i have a fiddle leaf fig that is sparsely growing even though all the other plants are good. the ends,tips, of the leaves are turning brown. i also have a few newly opened leaves with holes. i do not see any pests, and the do get fertilized properly. any suggestions?

It sounds like Antracnose or a similar fungus although I doubt it.

The Fiddle Leaf is quite hardy and not very succeptable to very many problems.  

Check you soil aeration.  If it is in a planter check to see if it is root bound.  Also get a ph meter and check the ph of your soil.  It should be around 5.5 to 6.5  if it is 7.0 it is inactive and you can fertilize all you want.  The tree wont absorb any of it.

Make sure you are not over fertilizing too.  It is a common mistake even the pro's make from time to time.
