bamboo leaves turning brown

Question
hi, so ive have a bamboo plant growing in water for the past 3 yrs mainly in my room with minimal sun...now for the summer its at my parents house and initially it was directly in the sun but it was turning brown so i thought the sun was maybe to harsh and its adjusting but im not quite sure, so currently its in my room with little direct sun and still in water yet the leaves continue turning brown and wilting.  just wondering if theres something im missing? thanks

Answer
Jonathon,

There are a lot of issues that can damage lucky bamboo which is not bamboo at all but Dracaena sanderiana. Leaves turning brown is usually a water problem, how often do you change the water? Does the water at your parents have fluoride or chlorine? They really hate fluoride. The following website has very complete info on your lucky bamboo: http://www.fastfengshui.com/nlt_aug18_2005luckybamboo.htm

If you have more questions after reading that site feel free to write again. Good luck.
