weeping willow leaves turning brown

Question
I have two two year old weeping willows in my yard. They have been beautiful until this week. I noticed the edges of the leaves turning brown. The area around the vein remains green. I don't see any insects or spores. I gave them extra water over the last two days. They got worse. I put down lawn fertilizer about two weeks ago (Scotts Turfbuilder) and the town may have sprayed for west nile virus (though they said they did not do my yard). I can send a digital image if that would help. The problem started distally and moved proximally toward the trunk over the last two days.

Answer
My guess is some type of environmantal damgae. Check the Turfbuilder bag and make sure it did not contain anything but fertilizer (some have herbicides in them to kill the grass weeds). These type additives will also damage trees and the symptoms will be the leaves curling and dying at the margins. The spraying for west nile virus would have no effect on the trees.
