Sped-up growth

Question
- Since I live in a zone 9 climate, I was wondering if the summer heat will speed up growth in relatively slow-growing species, such as the Red-Tube Trumpet, Sarracenia purpurea, or sarracenia pssitacina, In addition to small decorative rocks on the soil that retain heat during the last few hours of the day? I don't feel that comfortable with fertilized...Yet. Thanks for all your help.

Answer
Hi Ted,

It's not just the daytime temperature, but the nighttime temperature that affects plant growth.  In Oregon our temperature can get warm, but our nights are fairly cool, below 60癋.   Your warm nights will definitely give these plants a boost.  Much of our customers in your region often grow larger Sarracenia than we do!

Good growing!
