heating mat   Allexperts,


Hey is this heating mat okay for my terriarium? It is used mostly for reptiles and spiders.  I have put an photo attached to this email. Thank you , for your help.  Just curious if it would generate to much heat.

Hi Weylin,

There's no real way for me to know.  You would need to test it and see how hot it gets.  If the surface temperature is over 90 degrees it would be too hot.  Horticultural heating mats like I showed you don't tend to exceed that.  With either these reptile pads or the horticultural pads they work best if they have a rheostat where you can control the temperature.
