have  a black fungus or pest on leaves,looks like little black dots on leaves,giving off a resin type substance,young tree,unaffected areas doing fine,affected areas withered.any ideas to rid this pest or fungus

Can you send me a photo of these dots? Try to get as close as you can and be sure that your photo is in focus by reviewing it on the computer before sending it to me. Thisay be an insect, but it will be useful to see the critter.
