leave fungus

Question

leave fungus
Hello Dr Stephen i hope you are well , i was wondering if you could try and help me with a fungus problem i have with my Stemmadenia littoralis ( Milky Way Tree)
I have 3 one year old seedlings which all seem to be suffering from some type of white fungus on the underside of the leaves! which i have never seen before on any other plant it is totally new to me! As the plant is rare theres not a lot of info on the net i have tried soaking the plant and pot in a copper based fungicide with limited success! The fungus is white and very small almost gritty or rough to the touch starts on the leave edge and works its way inwards slowly killing the leave! I have attached 3 photos sorry there not the best any help would be much appreciated
thanks Brian

Brian:
Without being able to look at the growth under a microscope, I would be guessing.  You really need to have a reasonably good idea of the identity in order to prescribe a control.  This may be a fungus disease called downy mildew. This fungus is very delicate on the leaf and occurs (produces spores) only on the undersides. Someone would need to be able to look at the leaf under a microscope or other magnification to confirm.  Consider carrying a couple of affected leaves to your local garden center where they can perhaps examine it with even a hand lens to see if it is fungal in nature. You can also "Google" downy Mildew on your computer to perhaps compare.
