dwarf lime tree

Question
i have a dwarf lime tree, and at the ends of the branch the end leaves have squigally lines on them. is this some kind of a worm and what can i do

Answer
Valerie:

Check out images on "Google for "Leafminer".  The immature insect burrows between the upper and lower epidermis of the leaf.  Imagine a peanut butter and jelly sandwich------ then imaging this insect eating the peanut butter and jelly ,but leaving the bread behind. The mature insect might be a very small wasp or other type of adult. Check with your local garden center for the most effective materials.  On many plants these critters don't impact the overall health of the plant.  If it is outside, usually other insect keep these leafminers controlled.

Steve
