a lime tree problem

Question
I have a small indoor lime tree.  It has these little brown scaly looking things on the limbs and leaves and some spiderweb like things where limbs intersect with trunk.  This same probelm occurs time after time. I have tried Schultz Houseplant and Garden insect spray.  In summer time I have also prayed teh tree with a hose to try to wash al the problems off.   Any suggestions?

Also, this is the first year I have ever gotten buds/flowers.  Has them right now. Have not gotten fruit.  Tree is about 8 years old and about 2 feet tall.  Will it ever get limes?  Thanks

Answer
ANSWER: Hi Mickey ...Give your tree a bath.  You could use soapy dish water, to remove some of these bugs.  Then you could apply an oil spray to protect it from future problems.  I rec-commend neem which will not wash off and is totally safe. Make sure it is pure oil and not mixed with poison as some companies are doing.  With the neem spray you can even spray the soil as the bugs don't want to walk on it.  The Neem will also help to pollinate the tree.  Hopefully you can get it outside so an insect can help pollinate it, or you may have to pollinate it yourself.  It can be a bee, fly, butterfly, wasp, etc.  kathy
