tree insect

Question

Tree Insects
I have recently discovered some sort of insect nesting in two large trees in my yard.  They "clump" together on the branches and the leaves have small hole and are starting to turn brown.  What are they and how do I get rid of them?  A photo is attached.

Answer
Robert:
These may be scale insects or a type of beetle. You can carry these by your local nursery or garden center for a positive ID. Your photo is a bit fuzzy and I cannot be for sure. These also may be eggs of other types of insect also.

Regards
Steve
