lime tree death

Question
I have a lime tree around 10 years old. All of a sudden several limbs have started to look like it needed water and then they died within 2 weeks. There is still healthy limbs on other parts of the tree.Should I prune the dead ones? They seem to have died on the backside that borders up against areca palms & fenced. We also fertilized it about 3 weeks ago with citrus fertilizer.

Answer
Hi Pam,  Hopefully you used a slow release fertilizer and not a cheap one.  Check the label for salt and chlorine additives found in cheaper fertilizer that kill plants.  Prune the dead ones off and if you used the wrong type of fertilizer it needs to be watered allot as it dries out the plant.  Sounds like that is the problem.. kathy
