St Augustine Grass Central Texas

Question
I have had a well manicured lawn for several years, but now I have detected Fungus and have put down  Lime and Fertilizer.  Also I note that along the curb all the way around the grass is just dying, so I guess I really need help.  I was so happy to locate this web site.  looking forward to a reply.

Answer
Hi bob;
Well, as you can tell by my answers, i don't use chemical fertilizers.
Using a fungicide is the best answer for a fungus.
I am not sure what the lime is supposed to do.
I like baking soda disloved in water for a fungicide. It works better for me than the chemical fungicides ever did.
You would need to saturate the area well, probably a good idea to treat the whole yard.
an organic program just does better, gets better results, with less work and expense.
Was the street treated with salt this winter, when it froze?
If this happened, salt could have been splashed up on the grass, and that will surely kill it.
Other than that, based on just what you have told me, I wouldn't have a guess as to what could have caused this.
the grass dieing along the curb just suggests to me something was used on the street, and splashed up on the grass.
You don't say where you live, so I don't know what kind of winter you had.
We had some colder than usual here in the DFW area.
If you can give me more information, I might be able to give you some better tips.
Charlotte
