st augustine grass in houston, texas

Question
I currently have established St augustine, but have very little base soil. Grass seems too thin, will adding top soil  or aerating or both help? Also, when would be the best time to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Answer
Hi Chris
Evverything is fine with your lawn. If you have recently established st. augustine grass, then no need to worry. Next month you can aerate your lawn with recoomeded fertilizer dose. I will not recommend you to add soil as it will bw costly. otherwise you can do it. If possible add some organic material in your lawn as it help in increasing water holding capacity and aeration in soil layer.
Best of luck

Aman
