sand spurs

Question
I live in north florida. I have sand spurs this time of the year. How do I get rid of them?

Answer
Hi Ron;
To get rid of ALL weeds, make rich soil.
Weeds like poor soil and will not grow in fertile soil.
Chemical fertilizers etc do NOT enrich the soil.
They feed the vegeqation growing there, including weeds. Then it wears out and you have to reapply it.
An organic program has beneficial microbes that work round the clock enrichiong the soil.
I put sugar on my lawn in the spring and again in the fall.
Sugar nourishes the baneficial microbes.
Apply it now, at the rate of 1 or 5 pounds per 1000 sq.ft, and water it in well.
By next spring your lawn will be considerable richer.
Far fewer weeds should come up in the spring. Apply sugar again, water it in well, and the weeds that do come up will start to die out right away.
Within a few mowings you should see few if any weeds.
A good organic program solves all the lawn problems, chemicals just put a bandaid on thm and in the long run atually make them worse.
