Weeds in my yard

Question
Dear Expert,

My husband and I had recently moved into a new house. Neither of us are very knowledgeable green thumbs. However, We would very much like to learn to care for our yard. I was just reading one of your suggestions about using sugar and water to help enrich the soil. My question to you is a two part question. Fist, we live in Texas, where the weather constantly changes, however spring does seem to come around March, is this when we should do the "sugar water" treatments? Secondly, Does this treatment attract ants and other types of bugs?

Thank you,
Wannabe weedless

Answer
Hi Stacye;

You are just working on enriching the soil.
The rich soil is key to everything.
Weeds love poor soil and will not thrive in rich soil.
verything goes great in rich soil.
The "NO poisons in chemicals" makes a healthy enviornment for lawn critters we have in Texas. Lizards, grass snakes, and toads. They will eat ALL the insects that are atracted to your lawn.
They will do a much better job of ridding your lawn of insects that .
