Concrete Patio Problem

Question
I have 8 large (8'x10') concrete slabs for a patio at my back door. The slab that is right at my back door, is slanted in towards the door and the retaining wall to the basement stairs. When I bought my house, about 2 months ago, the inspector stated the concrete slab is encouraging water to seep in and around my foundation.
What I would like to know is, is it possible to pour concrete on top of concrete to level out the one slab? if not what other alternatives do I have? Also I will be building a wood deck over this large concrete patio area.....does this change anything?

Answer
Assuming you have several inches minimum between the top of the existing slab and your finished floor you might be able to mortar and grout stone to the patio slab thus raising it a few inches (1.5" thick stone and 1/2 inch minimum mortar). But the new stone surface must be able to be made to fall away from the house. Without a transit and level this will be hard to figure out. Your other option is to tear out the slab and rebuild it with the proper fall away from your house. A wood patio would only help if it kept all the water off the patio below.
