We have a drainage'route'in our front yard that pools water on our enter cement pathway.  Is there anyway to correct this issue, perhaps digging out some of the grass that stops the water drainage???   Thanks for any suggestions.  We are concerned that the cement may crack eventually.   Linda

The concrete will crack. Most of us who have dealt with concrete for many years believe that there are two types of concrete: that which has cracked, and that which will crack.

It sounds like your "drainage route" is a swale that was installed by the builder and then the concrete guys came in and installed the walkway improperly. That's what usually happens.
