Question
I recently purchased a home with a concrete backyard.  I have two small children and would like them to have a grass cushion to play on. What is the easiest and least expensive way for me to replace the slab with grass.

The only way to get rid of the concrete backyard is to remove the concrete with jack hammer or skid steer.  You will have to add more soil, level and grade properly, and either seed or sod.  Seeding is cheaper than sod but sod is instant lawn.
