NO WATER, FROM DRILLED WELL

Question
OUR WELL WAS WORKING JUST FINE. THE WELL WAS DRILLED ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO. EARLIER IN THE DAY I TURNED THE WATER ON TO WATER THE LAWN, ALL WAS FINE. LATER THAT DAY, I TURNED THE WATER ON TO WATER THE TREES...NO WATER CAME OUT OF THE HOSE. WE PUT IN NEW WIRING FROM THE WELL TO THE ELECTRICAL BOX. WE ALSO PUT IN A NEW PRESSURE SWITCH, A NEW STARTER BOX. ANY IDEAS OF WHAT TO CHECK NEXT? THANKS.

Answer
Hi Brad

There could be a couple of issues to consider.  Check the pressure tank.  From time to time, pressure tanks become water logged which affects the flow of water dramatically.  Inside the tank is a pocket or bladder of pressurized air providing the working pressure needed to move water through the pipe network at your house.  If the proportion of air is lost, then the tank needs to be serviced.

It could also be a block somewhere in the supply line.  Contact a well contractor to have the suction line inspected and flow tested.

Hope this helps - Good Luck.

Tony
