Question
HI, I have a shallow well (13').  Usually the water gets low in the fall and sometimes we have none for a couple of days, when the fall rain comes we have allways been good till spring.  This year (dispite the recent 2 weeks of rain) we have been out of water for 8 weeks now.  Is there a possiblility that something is not allowing water into our well?  Any ideas?

This is not really my area of expertise, but I have a comment.  I would think that since you have been getting plenty of rain, that you should not have a problem getting water into the well.  More likely would be that water is not being held in the well---it may have a leak or some other reason it is not retaining water.  You may want to have someone familiar with wells in your area to take a look at it, they would know the ins and outs of these things for local conditions.
