Hardie master valve fault

Question
I have a Hardie TC12b control box for my irrigation system. I have a relay and a pump in the system connected to the master valve slot. My pump does not want to activate and after some fault finding and replacing the relay I found that the voltage from the master valve slot is only about 2V. And I guess it should be closer to 24V? What can be the cause for the master valve not sending out the correct voltage? Regards, Dries

Answer
Hi Dries

The control box should send between 24 VAC to 28VAC to the pump start relay.

Make sure you have the same range at the 24VAC ports at the controller box. If not check you have 120VAC from your home to the controller box. If you don't have AC power to the box the battery will keep it "on" but in battery mode it can't operate the ports.

If you have AC power to the box, but not power at the 24VAC ports the transformer is damaged, you can buy a replacement at any electric store.
