10 petaled flower anenomie like

Question
walking around my neighborhood in portland, my friends and i found a stunning exotic flower.  it has ten artichoke colored petals, with lavender/white/violet radial fronds like a sea anenomie, with a pronounced exotic iris/orchid like center yellow/purple.  this flower is very abstract looking, and i am very interested to know what its called.  it grows corkscrew spirals on the vine, and it blossoms in a closed pod with 3 leaves.  the leaves are dark green and glossy.    thank you if you can help me identify this flower.  maxfield

Answer
Hello Maxfield,

Your flower sounds like a vine commonly called Passion vine (Passiflora). They are very awesome!

Please check the web to make sure I'm correct with what you saw...if not write back and I will continue to work on it.

Thank you for your question,
Angie
