Orchid?

Question

Flower
I live in Louisiana, and have this wonderful little plant growing at the base of an
oak tree. Long leaves branch out and the end of it turns into a beautiful lil
flower. And the leaf then turns into another plant.... Im curious if this is some
kind of wild orchid? If not, what is it, and what are the chances of it being a
house plant?

Answer
It does look and smell like an orchid, doesn't it? This is actually Neomarica gracilis, also called a walking iris or an Apostle plant.  I have several that I keep as house plants.

You can cut off the baby plants are replant them elsewhere.
