Jalapeno Plant

Question
hi i am 13 and i just brought a jalapeno bush and i would like to know when ill get my first jalapeno and if there is anything i am suppose to do when it starts to grow i am not that good of a gardener so i would like some tips if your willing to give about the jalepeno plant or i also brought a chive, coriander, sweet basil, commen mint also how much are you supose to water them

Answer
Caitlyn, jalapenos take 8 weeks to reach maturity. They normally start producing peppers after the 4th of July. You should apply a water-soluble fertilizer high in phosphorus once they reach 1 foot tall. Continue this every 10 days through the end of August. Other than that, just be sure to not overwater. Peppers like the soil to dry out between waterings. And remember to harvest every three day once the fruit reaches 3" long. The more you harvest, the more the plant will produce.

Good luck, and write again if you ever need assistance.

Regards,

Mike
