papyrus plant

Question
I have just recieved in the mail a papyrus plant and I am wondering what is the coolest temp it can tolerate. I live in Rhode Island zone 6 and it is still below 50 degrees at night. is that still too cool for it to stay outside all night?
thank you Myrna

Answer
Gradually let the papyrus get used to the night temperature, by leaving it out for a few hours each night then bringing it in. It will be able to tolerate 40 degrees without a problem if it has time to adjust to it. Just keep a close eye on the thermometer, and the plant. It should be fine after a week.
