Purple Pitcher Plant

Question
Hi, I just purchased a Purple Pitcher plant and have it in my indoor greenhouse. I am now reading where it should be gorwn outside. The Temps here are still dipping into the 30's (Dallas, TX I believe zone 8b) Should I wait until Spring to move it outside? or acclimate it out there now? I dont want to shock it.

Answer
Hi Maria,

Since it sounds like you don't know if the plant was outdoors previously, it's best to just keep it in your greenhouse until spring.  When danger of frost is past, they move it outdoors to stay.  Sarracenia purpurea actually lives in colder climate zones than yours.  You can find specific growing details on our website.

Good Growing!
