Any ideas on how to achieve a night temperature around 60,when the house is 70-72, and it's 80 to 85 outside?

There are several methods.  If you have air conditioning, place the plant near a vent (remember that conditioed air is dry so keep your plant moist or on a pebble tray).  Another option is to put it in a cooler area of the house (such as a basement). If none of these options are available, air can be cooled by dieccting a fan at a pan of water set between the fan and the plant. This is a form of evaporative cooling.
