moles and mole holes and mounds

Question
We have moles and their trenches in the grass in our back yard and we don't know what to do to get rid of them.
We have had a lawn company spray for grubs in the
Spring and Fall and fertilize and weed control but the moles continue to cause the yard to be a mess

Answer
Hi Gail,
Thanx for your question.  Moles are a problem in certain areas here in Kansas, expecially the river bottom areas that have sandy soil, so it is easier for them to burrow.  We plant castor bean plants and I have no data that prove that works but we also have cats.  Cats and dogs both seem to help make the moles move to more friendlier places.  We still have moles and I am also a market gardener but the moles have not really had a bad effect on my produce.  Just annoying.  The only other answer is non-organic poison which is also poisonous to humans, domesticated pets, etc.  It's your choice.  I hope this helps.
Tom
