Nectarine planting

Question
I read the answer about how to grow from seed but I want to know if there is any special way to put the seed. Pointed end down/up or have an edge where the seed might split?

Also I live on the edge of zone 4/5 and it's the middle of summer. Should I grow the tree indoors through the winter and plant in the spring?

Answer
Given your area of the country, you will have to grow the seedling indoors over the winter. You can then transplant it in the spring.

There is no up or down on seeds unless you are growing a plant from a bulb. In that case, the flat side of the bulb faces down and the pointed side up. But thanks to gravity, seeds by nature force the roots down and the seedling upward. Just be sure to plant the seed at a depth of 3X the diameter of the seed.

I hope this answered your question. Please write again if I can ever be of assistance.

Regards,

Mike
