crepe myrtle seedlings

Question
I have Dynomite Red Crepe Myrtle seedlings coming up under some of my trees.  I have planted them seperately and some are now about 3 feet tall.  One of them bloomed this year but it was light pink.  None of the other 5 bloomed but they are only 2 feet tall.  My question is do the revert back in color, was this a fluke  or what?  I cannot find any information or any one to help me with this question.  Also, they grow easily and quite quickly from an inch to about 2 feet in a couple of months.Thank you

Answer
Hi Carolyn,
Thanx for your question.  Crape mytle 'Dynomite' is a hybrid.  The resulting seedlings almost never resemble the parent plants and revert back to some prior generation.  Crape myrtle seedlings do grow quickly especially if the soil is good and the climate is warm and there is plenty of rain or water.  I hope this helps.
Tom
