Bismarckia seedlings

Question
My seeds germinated in a 14' plastic bag. The top is 2"high, but the root is alredy coming out from the bottom of bag. Should I transfer the plants to a bigger pot or to outside garden considering that Bismarkia is so root sensitive? I live in St. Lucia, and it's very warm.
Thank you for your time. Wanda

Answer
Hi Wanda,
Thanx for your question and it's great to hear from St. Lucia.  I'm not an expert on palms but I do know that this rooting issue is typical of Bismarckia seedlings once they germinate.  Go ahead and plant the seedling carefully in a large pot.  Give it a chance to become a strong seedling before you plant it in the desired location outdoors.  I hope this helps.
Tom
