starting a necturine tree from seed

Question
I have read and printed your updated advise on how to start a nectarine from seed and have just a couple more questions. Do you plant the entire center "nut" of the fruit or crack it and take the seed out?  And, Do you need to plant as soon as you have eaten the fruit or can the "nut" be out of the fruit for a week or so???
Thank you so much for this site and your advise.
Trudi

Answer
Hi Trudy,
Thanx for your question and thanx for using the Search feature.  I have since learned that one may crack open the large seed covering and remove the "nut" for quicker germination.  I don't think it will do any harm if the seed is not immediately planted.  It will need the cold stratification no matter what.  I hope this helps.
