Indoor or outdoor?

Question
Hi,
I have chosen what flowers I wanted to plant, I have a mixed choice of red flowers. On the back of the pack it says it says to plant them outdoors, but I wanted to plant them indoors. Until the flower sprouts. Would it be 100% safe to plant them indoors?

Answer
Hi Manahil,
Thanx for your question.  I start almost all of my flowers indoors.  Follow the directions on the seed pack for starting indoors.  Generally, this will mean planting the seed at the appropriate depth, providing some moisture and then some light.  I use 4 foot long shop lights with 40W flourscent bulbs suspended about 8-10 inches above the seed flats.  The shop lights are not expensive and cost betwee $10 and $15.  They are available at Walmart, hardware stores, big box stores, etc.  I hope this helps.
Tom
