indoor money plant

Question
my indoor money plant leaves are getting black. even the new leaves getting black and has stopped growing. if they start to grow they turn black and withered. please suggest a solution to this problem. Thanks

Answer
Hi Robiz,

First, I need to know just what plant species you have. Money plant usually refers to the Jade Plant or Crassula argentea. Money tree usually refers to Pachira aquatica. There is much mixing up of these two very different plants. Please look online and let me know which plant species you have so I can advise you properly. Otherwise email a photo to me at [email protected]

I can tell you that, in general, when new growth turns dark, it is almost always a result of root damage caused by root rot or some kind of toxic chemicals introduced into the soil. Again, I cannot advise you on proper watering without knowing which plant you have.

Regards,
Will Creed
