Hi Will, thanks in advance for your help.

I will like to have some indoor plants in my house, but the ones I try, they just die, or grow desperately trying to reach the next window.

I will like to have something nice exotic, with color.which plants will you sugest.

Bruno.
Answer -
Hi Bruno,

The most adaptable plants are ZZ plant and snake plant. Both will survive in a wide range of light. However, it is important not to water these plants more than once every 3 to 4 weeks. Of the two, the ZZ plant is the more exotic looking.

If you want additional suggestions, I would have to know more about the available light, specifically how close to the window and which direction the window faces. Most plants are suited to a particular light level and don't do well if they are placed outside their light range. In general, colorful plants and flowerg plants require much more light than dark green plants.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.

Thanks Will. Never heard of a ZZ plant ( I think )but I am very interested will they be available in Florida?

Thanks again.

Answer
Hi Bruno,

That is a funny question because virtually all of the indoor plants used in the northeast, including the ZZ plant, are grown in Florida nurseries and shipped north by truck. Most of the nurseries are located in south Florida, although there are others around Apopka. Sorry I can't provide a specific FL source, but you shouldn't have a problem finding one.

The botanical name is Zamioculcus zamiifolia.
