Jacaranda trees

Question
I have a jacaranda tree and the lower two meters is bare of branches. I would like to graft on cuttings from the top to give a better spread of branches. Is this practical? If so how do I do it

Answer
Hi David,
Thanx for your question.  I'm really not a tree expert.  However, I do not believe grafting for the purposes you indicated is done.  I could be wrong.  I recommend that you pose this question to Allexperts' tree expert Jim Hyland who has extensive forestry experience having worked for the US Forestry Service.  He can be accessed by going back to Home/Garden and Clicking on Trees and then clicking on Trees again.  I hope this helps.  BTW, I was in Izmir and Ephesus in November on a cruise.  We really liked our visit to Turkey.  Hope to see more of the country in the future.  Take care!

Tom
