Question
Do the AV have a life cycle or blooming cycle?
Do you keep moist or let it dry out?

Answer
AVs do not really have a life cycle per se. They can live for years, or decades. (Longer than most dogs)! They do undergo a blooming cycle; for instance, they will bloom for 1-3 months, and then the blooms will die off. There is nothing wrong at this point, it is just that they are taking a much needed rest. BTW, when the blooms start dying off pinch them off and discard. This helps the plant redirect its energy back into the foliage and the newer blooms. Then, in 4-6 months they will bloom again if they have the ideal conditions, which are bright light (NOT direct sun), humidity and never, ever let them dry out-- ever!  I hope this helps.
