Plumeria Cuttings

Question
I live in Southeast Texas.  When is the proper time for taking cuttings from my plumeria?  What is the proper technique?

Answer
Hi Jeanne, you can take cuttings anytime, they are usually shedding their leaves and going semi dormant right now, so the cutting will take awhile to root, but just cut about a 10 inch tip cutting with or without growth on it and place it in some potting soil, dampen it and pretty much just keep an eye out for growth at the top, this will tell you its set roots, then move it its permanent location, be it a container or the ground (weather permitting of course). Just be careful not to keep the soil damp or it will rot, just water enough to keep the soil from drying out completely. Nick
