hibiscus problem

Question
I have 5 hibiscus plants-trees that are in ground in Florida. One of the trees is 4 years old and the others I planted last may.All of these plants looked great- had many buds and flowers when I returned to Florida in late October-now all of them are shedding leaves, the leaves are turning yellow and curling-Wahat's the cause and what do I do-they are on an automatic sprinkler system-twicde a week with a light shower and the weather has been warm and humid for the past 2 weeks-please advise

Answer
Hi Mike, Hibiscus is very sensitive to surrounding changes, the cooler nights and scarcity of rain has caused them to begin yellowing and shedding; this is really normal and not to be a real concern. Make sure there are no aphids or scale on the buds and terminal ends of the leaves, other then that, they will adjust and even out for you. Don't water as much as during the hotter summer months, this will only exacerbate the situation. Nick
