jasmine plants problem

Question
I live in Missouri, have had 2 jasmine plants all summer long, I have moved and after the move, one of my jasmine plants has had the leaves get dry and fall off, and today noticed the plant looked like I had spilled salt all over the junctions of many of the leaves and branches. I don't know what this is, what to do, if it is contagious. I have a grow lite on it, not in direct sun, have gardenia, airplanes, aloes, you name it, all plants in house and am worried. Please help. Should I also stop feeding, keep the grow lites on them all?? Concerned and want my babies all to enjoy the winter with me---also, should I run a humidifier in home (live in an apartment). Thank you so much for any help you can be, have a nice holiday, jane

Answer
Hi Jane.. Usually when leaves dry and fall off it means they are not getting enough water. Yellow leaves not enough water, black leaves too much.  Use Neem 100 per cent pure insecticidal spray, it is a fungicide, miticide and general spray to protect all your plants from disease except african violets.  The spray will also protect your other plants.  It is organic and very safe spray to use. You may want to purchase a water gauge to test how much water is in the container.  Different companies use different types of soil.  Some soils  you have to water more frequent others alot less.  Happy Holidays kathy
