frost damage on plam that is in a pot

Question
i have a palm that i bought last summer it was growing well but this winter we
have had bad frost and
snow the leaves have gone dried and brown it looks like it has died have i lost
my palm?or will it
come back in the warmer weather it is in a pot

Answer
Hi Collette, it all depends on whether the root system was injured or not, and the verdict will not come in until the weather warms and everything begins to actively grow; the center spear is where new growth emerges, it is here that you will see viable growth if it is to survive, but again, patience is of the essence. Cut off the completely brown fronds and watch that center and hope it begins to unravel. Nick
