Gold capellas with dark mold

Question
Hi Nick,
I live in Fort Lauderdale, FL and have gold capellas on 3 sides of my house.  The ones that face South are doing great, but the ones on the East and West sides have spots that appear to have dark mold on them.   I tried to research what the problem could be and I mostly find articles on these plants indoors being over watered so the advice about keeping the plants dry and not watering them don't help especially as the are planted in the drip line of the roof.  Can you recommend a treatment to get them looking healthier?  Thanks, Cathy

Answer
Hi Cathy, they probably have a fungal problem, you need to get a fungicide called "Daconil", it won't do anything about the existing spots, but the new growth should be devoid of the problem. The next thing you must do is move them from that location, or the problem will be recurring. Nick
