Bougainvillea Problem

Question
I have 2 Bougs planted with in 12 feet of each other climbing on a trellis. One of them is losing leaves from the ground up, however there are signs of new leaves coming back. Both plants receive the same amount of water and care.  There does not seem to be any insect problem. Please advise.

Answer
Hi Jimmi...bougs do get a bug that chews it up pretty good so an insecticidal spray will be beneficial, I love Neem Oil, which is organic.  Also leaf drop can be not enough water.  Most people think you do not need to water bougs but if you do some reading about them you will find watering is very nice to them.  They become lush and beautiful.  Remember trim after they bloom as they bloom off the new growth and it will help to make them bloom quicker.  One plant may be in an area that is sandier and therefore dries out quicker.
