managing a blue spruce tree

We would like to transplant a small (4-foot) blue spruce to our front yard. It would be about 9-feet from the house. Can we safely keep the width in check by pruning as it grows?

I would tkink 9 feet from the house is too close. These tree can reach a height: 90 to 135 feet and a
spread: 20 to 30 feet. The can be pruned but the shape maybe not to your liking since it will be a thin shape rather than the normal spruce shape.
